Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advises that a Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a silver Toyota Corolla on Highway 75 near Oakhill Rd, Plattsmouth.

A records check of the vehicle's license plate determined that the license plates belonged to a different car. The vehicle fled southbound on Highway 75 at a high rate of speed. The pursuit continued for about 6 minutes until the vehicle crashed into a ditch near Kenosha Rd on Highway 75. None of the occupants in the car were injured.

The driver, a 16-year-old male from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was placed into custody and charged with flight to avoid, amongst other charges. The passenger, a 15-year-old male from Council Bluffs, Iowa, was taken into custody but not charged with any crime.
