Cass County Sheriff, Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that on Friday June 10, 2022 at 1:20 p.m., Cass County Sheriff's Deputies along with Louisville fire/Rescue, Springfield Rescue and Cass County Emergency Management responded to a two vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of Highway 50 and East Park Highway.

A black 2020 Toyota Corolla driven by Victoria R. Abeyta (32 yoa) of Omaha was traveling north on highway 50 and turned left onto East Park Highway failing to yield to the red 2006 Ford Escape driven by Kathryn L. McDonald (50 yoa) of Avoca, that was traveling south on highway 50. The driver of the Ford did swerve to avoid the collision but was still struck by the Toyota and then rolled one time and landed on the driver side of the vehicle. The driver of the Ford had to be extricated from her vehicle before being transported to Bergen Mercy Hospital in Omaha for her injuries. The driver of the Toyota and her two children were transported to Midlands's hospital for precautionary reasons.

Seatbelts were in use during the accident and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
