Road Patrol

The Road Patrol Division of the Cass County Sheriff's Office is responsible for maintaining public safety and law enforcement across all 566 square miles of the county. The division is managed by the Patrol Captain, who oversees two Sergeants responsible for daily operations.

The division includes 15 Road Patrol Deputies, including a K-9 unit, and several specialized positions that enhance the division's capabilities:

  • Training Coordinator

  • School Resource Officer

  • Project LifeSaver members

  • TacMed team member

  • Drug Recognition Experts (DRE)

  • Crisis Negotiator

  • Crash Reconstructionist

  • Field Training Officers (FTOs)

Patrol Area and Coverage

Deputies patrol an extensive network of roads, including:

  • 11 miles of Interstate

  • 170 miles of state highways

  • 72 miles of paved county roads

  • 698 miles of gravel roads

  • 70 miles of minimum maintenance roads

Additionally, the Sheriff's Office provides contracted law enforcement services for the cities and villages of Eagle, Louisville, and Greenwood, covering 13 towns and three state parks.
