Cass County Sheriff Robert Sorenson reported that, on the afternoon of Sunday*, March 30, 2025, deputies from the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a head-on collision involving a car and a semi-truck. The accident occurred at the intersection of Highway 34 and 310th Street.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that the driver of a westbound SUV, identified as 53-year-old David Noonan of La Vista, swerved into the eastbound lanes of Highway 34 and collided with an eastbound semi-truck. Noonan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi-truck, 58-year-old Robert Morton of Lincoln, was transported to Bryan West Trauma Center in Lincoln with minor injuries.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office is working in partnership with the Nebraska State Patrol to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident. The investigation is ongoing.
