Sheriff William Brueggemann advised that on Thursday 07-02-2020 at 4:31pm 911 Communications Center received a call of a car vs motorcycle accident at Highway 75 Near the Country Bar. Units from the Cass County Sheriffs office, Plattsmouth Fire and Rescue and EMA were on scene. Motorcycle operator, a 39 Year old male from Bellevue was northbound on Highway 75 driving a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Vehicle operator being driven by a 81 Year old Plattsmouth resident was in the crossover area for emergency vehicles due to a detour at the Railroad tracks on Beach Road, waiting to go east across Highway 75 Northbound traffic. The 81 year old driver stated he did not see the motorcycle and proceeded across northbound Highway 75, at which time vehicle collided with motorcycle sending the motorcycle and operator into the ditch and onto the side of the road. Motorcycle operator was transported Code 3 to the UNMC trauma center due to injuries.
